Sunday, April 14: Worship
In the gospel reading for today the disciples spend all day with Jesus
walking from Jerusalem to Emmaus, but do not recognize him until they sit
down for supper and Jesus breaks the bread and gives thanks to God. It
makes me wonder how many times we fail to see Jesus in our very midst.

Sunday, April 21: Worship with Holy Communion
It is “Shepherd Sunday.” Jesus describes himself as the “Good Shepherd”
and we are the sheep who reap the benefit of his good care. I’m not so
insulted by that anymore. Sheep are smart. They know who will take good
care of them and are smart enough to listen to his voice and his voice only.

Sunday, April 28: Worship with Holy Communion

In the gospel reading from John Jesus says “I am the Vine” and tells his disciples to stay attached to him. If they do they will bear an abundance of fruit.
